Who is permanent makeup for?Permanent makeup offers advantages to a range of clients. Opting for a cosmetic eyebrow tattoo can be ideal for those with sparse or over-plucked brows (think 90’s brows!), as well as individuals experiencing hair loss. It is a convenient, time saving alternative to daily makeup routines. Additionally, lip blush can help rejuvenate the shape and colour of the lips that may have been lost and can even be combined with lip filler for enhanced results.

Do I need a consultation before booking?Yes. We provide complimentary consultations for all permanent makeup treatments, and a patch test can be carried out if you are happy to proceed with booking the treatment. At the consultation we will take a medical history to ensure that permanent makeup is a suitable treatment for you at that time and a doctor's letter may be requested. If you have any questions about your cosmetic tattoo treatment, feel free to contact us through our contact form or on social media.
-
If I have already had permanent makeup done elsewhere, can I still book with you?If you already have permanent makeup in the area, please provide photos before scheduling a consultation for us to assess. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee that we can proceed without removing existing permanent makeup.

How many appointments will I need?To achieve the best outcome, it is suggested to schedule two sessions for eyebrow tattoos: the first treatment and a follow-up appointment (usually 6-8 weeks later). As for lip tattoos, a touch-up is recommended after a minimum of 8 weeks. The cost of top-up appointments is covered in the initial treatment fee. Any additional appointments required will incur an extra charge specified in our pricing.

Are There Any Cons To Lip Blush Treatment?Lip blushing, like any cosmetic procedure, may have some disadvantages that you should consider before deciding to have the treatment. Some common disadvantages of lip blushing include: **Pain and discomfort:** The process of lip blushing involves the use of needles to inject pigment into the lips, which may cause some pain and discomfort during and after the procedure. **Swelling and bruising:** It is common for the lips to swell and bruise after lip blushing, which may last for several days, but this will subside. **Allergic reactions:** Some individuals may experience allergic reactions to the pigments used in lip blushing, leading to irritation, redness, or swelling in the treated area. You are required to have a patch test prior to the treatment, although the results of the patch test are not definitive and there is a chance of an allergic reaction. **Uneven colour or fading:** In some cases, the pigment used in lip blushing may fade unevenly over time, resulting in a patchy or discoloured appearance that may require touch-ups or correction. You may also experience uneven colour if your therapist has gone over the vermillion border as this is a different type of tissue being tattooed to the lips and it is important to remain within the vermillion border for this reason. **Infection risk:** As with any cosmetic procedure that breaks the skin, there is a risk of infection following lip blushing if proper aftercare instructions are not followed diligently. It is important for individuals considering lip blushing to have a consultation and discuss any concerns or potential risks before moving forward with the treatment. **Hard to remove** As this is a permanent makeup procedure, the pigment remains for a very long time, even if left to fade out naturally. Particularly with pigments used in lip blushing, due to them being lighter than brow colours, they contain a high level of titanium dioxide which is extremely difficult, potentially impossible, to remove. It is therefore important you choose a colour you are happy with and ensure you are happy with the pre-draw before treatment commences.

What Is Powder Brow Treatment? The powder brow technique uses a digital machine to implant small pigment pixels into the dermis layer of the skin, layering them to form a gradient effect. This technique provides a soft focus in the brow's front and enhances definition and shape in the arch and tail. The layers and final outcome can be customised to meet each client's needs, resembling a 24/7 brow tint for a beautiful, soft yet defined look, or a more full makeup look. Once you have gone through the healing process, you will come back for your second appointment roughly 6 weeks later to ensure any tweaks are made for the perfect brow.

Does Powder Brow Treatment Hurt?Having permanent eyebrow treatment done correctly should not be a painful process, despite common misconceptions. At The Blush & Brow Co., we focus on a gentle technique that minimises discomfort by avoiding deep placement into the skin. Our specialty lies in creating natural-looking results, and this is the same for all permanent makeup offered at our studio.

Powder Brows Vs MicrobladingPowder brows and microblading are both popular eyebrow treatments, each with unique characteristics. Here's a comparison of the differences between the two procedures: Microblading: Involves a handheld tool creating small incisions on the skin’s surface to mimic hair-like strokes, followed by pigment application. Higher risk of scarring due to technique. Not recommended for oily skin types as strokes may blend together, leading to a shaded brow appearance. Not suitable for covering up previous work and requires more touch-ups. Can achieve a natural hair-stroke look but comes with more risks. Powder Brows: Created using a digital device with a needle cartridge to create shading Suitable for all skin types, requires fewer touch-ups, and lasts longer. Offers versatility from bold makeup looks to natural appearances. Ideal for cover-up treatments and considered safer as the pigment is deposited in the skin's sup, reducing scarring risks.
